Parents information
Helping teens to decide on their future is a challenge, now more than ever whether you are a parent, a carer or a teacher. Dynamo Healthcare Training Academy (DHCTA) has been set up as an alternative to College provision for people aged 16-18 years.
There are more than 350 different roles in health and social care, that can all start from a level 2 Health and Social Care qualification.
A young person can go to College and complete a course with a view to move to University or move directly in to work. However, many young people who finish College are not always work ready.
DHCTA provides the young person for the working environment and for an apprenticeship, we ensure they have clear career goals and progression routes towards a chosen career.
DHCTA provides the practical and core skills training, as well as the knowledge of the sector with a variety of opportunities to meet employers. The young person will complete voluntary and work experience placements, until they find the correct employer for them.
The Academy runs from Sept to July with the aim to move directly into a paid apprenticeship when they finish the cadetship.
Where individuals have not achieved a Grade C or equivalent GCSE they will continue to complete these with us at the Academy. These can be continued within their Apprenticeship should they need the continued support.
Our aim is to prepare the young person for an apprenticeship job that is right for them, and a career plan with progression opportunities, to enable them to live independent successful lives.
