ELCAS
ELCAS stands for the Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service. It\’s a UK initiative designed to help members of the Armed Forces, including service leavers, to further their education and training. Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) are part of the Ministry of Defence\’s commitment to lifelong learning for its personnel.
The scheme allows service members to receive financial support towards the cost of higher-level learning. This can include courses that result in a nationally recognised qualification at Level 3 or above on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England, Northern Ireland and Wales, or an equivalent framework in Scotland.
Participants in the ELCAS program can use their credits for a wide range of educational and vocational courses provided by learning providers that are part of the ELCAS scheme. The goal is to help them prepare for their transition to civilian life, enhance their career prospects post-service, and support personal development while still serving.
