Overview

The Adult Care Worker Level 2 Apprenticeship is designed to provide foundational training for individuals aspiring to start a career in adult care. This apprenticeship focuses on developing essential skills in supporting the physical, emotional, and social needs of adults in various care settings. Apprentices will learn about person-centred care, effective communication techniques, and promoting health and well-being. Through hands-on experience and guided learning, apprentices will gain the expertise needed to deliver compassionate and dignified care while adhering to industry standards and regulations. This apprenticeship is ideal for those new to the field, offering a pathway to a fulfilling career in adult care with opportunities for further development and specialisation.

Receive

This qualification is equivalent to five GCSEs at grades A-C.  Upon successful completion of this program, you will receive:

  • Pearson BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care Accredited with Pearson Edexcel.
  • Apprenticeship Certificate accredited by Highfield Awarding Body

Delivery

Funding

Cost: Non Levy Employers pay a Contribution of 5% which is £200. The Government will fund 95%.

Levy Transfer: DHCT will help you apply for a Levy Transfer from the NHS or Council to fund 100% of the course fees.

Grant: if the learner is aged 16-18 the employer will receive a grant of £1000.

Details

Learners must undertake an End Point Assessment prior to successful completion of their standard. This will include:

  • Self Assessment of confidence for role
  • Professional Discussion
  • A Judgement Test to confirm knowledge
  • Present portfolio

 

The Adult Care Level 2 Apprenticeship typically requires:  

  • Working in a Care Service Role
  • GCSE Grade E in Maths and English, Level entry 3 or equivalent. 
  • If you do not have GCSE or equivalent you will need to complete your functional skills in English and Maths during the programme. 

To complete an apprenticeship, you must be employed in an organisation with your employer's support. By undertaking an apprenticeship, you commit to completing the End Point Assessment (EPA).
