Community Participation & Sustainability

At Dynamo, we are committed to supporting local services and charities through our Community Participation and Sustainability Strategy. As a values-driven company, we strive to uplift our local communities and small businesses while passionately addressing environmental concerns. Explore our recent initiatives below.

Dynamo work with Ecologi to be a ‘Climate Positive Workforce’. This means that Ecologi will work on sustainability projects across the globe to take out more CO2e from the atmosphere that our workforce put out.

As of June 2022, we have so far offset 158.67 tonnes of CO2, through projects such as protecting lowland peat forest in Indonesia to the first ever wind power project in Honduras. The CO2e that we have taken from the atmosphere is equivalent to 122 long haul flights, 476 metres2 of sea ice saved, or 393,660 miles driven in a car! This is a huge impact.

As well as these sustainability projects, we have so far planted 2,158 real trees in a forest in the following countries:

Mozambique – 401

Madagascar – 1,315

Uganda – 60

Kenya – 367

Ecuadorean – Andes 5

Morocco – 10

As employees at Dynamo, we are entitled to 5 paid days a year that we can spend on charity work or volunteering. In July, some members of the team will be using one of their days to go planting trees in our local area. We also plan to go and do a beach clean in the summer, as we live so close to the coast!

The Dynamo team have fundraised for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal after seeing the atrocities that have happened in Ukraine recently. So far, we have raised £275 for the appeal, and we will continue to support the cause in any way we can.

In December 2021, Dynamo raised money to fund the Cornwall Christmas Food box appeal. We contacted the team to collect food for our local community, and the results were amazing!

We had tables full of mince pies and Christmas Dinner ingredients, to make Christmas a bit more special for those less fortunate than us.

As a team, we managed to fill six large boxes with Christmas food and treats for families in Cornwall. These boxes were sent to a local foodbank, where they were distributed to families who are less fortunate, to make Christmas that little bit easier.

Dynamo regularly donate to local foodbanks in our community. As a team, we have fundraised to donate a range of items to CPR foodbank in Camborne, and often visit other community hubs. We realise how important the foodbanks and community centre’s are for the local people, and for some they are a life line.

Operation Christmas Child was an appeal by Samaritans Purse, to send shoeboxes filled with toys, hygiene products and clothes to those less fortunate who live abroad.

As a team, we raised money and brought in toys to fill twenty shoeboxes with goodies. This boxes were brought to St Uny School, where they were shipped to children all around the world.
