New academy promises to be an innovative new development for the Healthcare sector in Cornwall.
Dynamo Healthcare Training, set up in 2012, has, in three short years, changed the approach to healthcare training in The South West. Focussing on apprenticeship training in health and social care, clinical health, personal assistants and medical administration, this company is paving the way for an exciting new kind of education for young people locally.
Dynamo’s energetic and dedicated team work tirelessly to inspire the youth of Cornwall in the hope of showing them the worthwhile careers open to them in the healthcare sector. While one team focuses on the young, the other works on engaging employers in Cornwall and The South West.
Dynamo have, in a short space of time, made their mark on Cornwall’s health sector. This SFA and Learning Partnership funded company is recommended by Cornwall’s out of hours health service, Kernow Health, as their preferred training provider.
The energy doesn’t end there.
Dynamo’s director, Gail, has a strict vision for how healthcare training should be delivered, ‘if we are to provide first class healthcare to service users, then those entering the sector require first rate training – the former and the latter deserve this standard of excellence’. Director, Gail, has recently been shortlisted for the Institute of Directors (IoD) Young Director of the Year Awards and was a finalist at the awards ceremony in Bristol last week.
Dynamo has developed a brand new academy for young people aged 16-18, based at the Duchy Business Centre in Pool, Redruth. It’s dedicated to the training of apprentices and other key workers in the health sector in Cornwall. \’After analysing feedback from employers, it became apparent that some felt that, while health care students carried the relevant credentials, they lacked vital experience\’ says Jenna Andrews, Dynamo\’s Business Manager.
The aim of the healthcare academy is to train learners to the highest of standards as well as ensuring work based competencies are met, prior to securing a full-time position as a qualified health care professional.
The Academy is enrolling now for September 2016 intake.
