Emergency first aid at work

Course Title:

Emergency first aid at work

Duration:

1 day

Description:

This Emergency First Aid at Work qualification came into effect 1st October 2009. Where an employer’s assessment for First Aid Needs identifies that a three-day FAW qualification is not necessary, employers are required to provide suitable emergency first training for staff within the workplace to render first aid in the event of an accident or illness. The 1 day course can be delivered to for up to 12 delegates.

Course contents:

The course covers those aspects of First Aid which are required in emergency situations, such as:

  • Action in an Emergency
  • Primary Assessment
  • Secondary Assessment
  • Breathing and Circulation
  • Principles of Resuscitation
  • Airway Obstruction
  • Disorders of Circulation
  • Bleeding.

 Assessment and certification:

On-going assessment by the tutor will be carried out and successful students will receive a certificate valid for three years.

First Aid at work

First Aid at work

Duration:

3 days

Description:

Upon successful completion of the course and final assessment, the delegate will receive the  nationally recognised First Aid at Work certificate, valid for three years.
The course syllabus can be contextualised to your specific needs and areas of risk.

 Assessment and certification:

There is a final assessment on the last day of the course. Successful delegates will be awarded a First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 year from date of assessment.

Paediatric First Aid

Paediatric First Aid

Description:

The Paediatric and Early Years first aid programme has been designed to meet with the recommendations of OFSTED for people working within early year’s education. These recommendations require all working within this sector to have first aid training with the subjects aimed specifically at children and infants.

 

This Paediatric programme is deemed suitable for anyone working with children including childminders, child carers, parents, Sunday school and play scheme leaders. The Paediatric First Aid course and is specifically designed for pre-school staff and nursery staff whose first aid qualification must meet with the recommendations of OFSTED

Assessment and certification:

The assessment for Paediatric and Early Years First Aid includes a continuous and ongoing assessment of students, undertaken by the programme instructor. The instructor will provide ongoing but unpressured, observation of students during all practice and scenario sessions. The instructor will conduct an informal assessment session to enable students to demonstrate key skills and prove competence. A written assessment of knowledge may be included.
